MANILA – Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz admits he has a tough assignment this weekend when he faces experienced striker Gegard Mousasi in UFC Fight Night in Berlin, Germany.

Mousasi has fought in different MMA outfits like PRIDE, Dream and Strikeforce before signing up with the UFC. He has compiled 34 wins against 4 defeats and 2 draws.

Munoz said in UFC.com that the Dutch-Armenian can be threatening in stand-up and even on the ground.

“He's an unbelievable striker. He's got great jiu-jitsu so he poses a big problem to a lot of people,” said the Filipino-American.

But Munoz, who has a record of 13-4, believes Mousasi has had difficulties handling wrestlers.
“I'll take the fight where I feel he's weak. I feel that he's had troubles with wrestlers. I have a wrestling pedigree so definitely I'm looking forward to this match-up,” said the Pinoy fighter.

Munoz added that a win against Mousasi will bring him closer to a middleweight title shot given the current landscape in the UFC’s 185-pound division.

“With Weidman being hurt and who knows if Vitor Belfort will come back, so there's a lot of things cookin' up,” he said.

“Right now, this fight bears a lot of weight. With a great win over one of the best fighters of the world, I believe, definitely puts my name back in the hat.”
