MANILA, Philippines – The Indiana Pacers are looking forward to making history when they visit the Philippines in October for an NBA pre-season game against the Houston Rockets.
In a video message posted on the NBA Philippines website, team president Herbert Simon expressed excitement for his team’s upcoming Philippine trip and invited Filipino fans to watch the game.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say that the Indiana Pacers are thrilled to be coming to the Philippines in the first ever NBA pre-season game in your country,” Simon said.
“We’re looking forward to meeting the local fans, who we understand have a great passion for the game of basketball, and taking in the sight and sounds of your beautiful country,” he added.
“We hope everyone comes out to see us in action as we put on a show for the fans this October.”
The Pacers will take on the Rockets on October 10 in an NBA pre-season game at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Indiana was recently eliminated by the Miami Heat in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals, while the Rockets bowed to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Tickets for the game go on sale on June 16, with 16,000 tickets available for sale.
