RP's Amit enters Women's 10-Ball Finals

MANILA - Filipino cue artist Rubilen Amit hurdled Japanese contender Akimi Kajitani on Saturday to barge into the finals of the JBET Poker.net Women's World 10-Ball Championship at the Sky Dome at SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

Amit, a three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, pulled through a thrilling match against Kajitani with a 9-7 victory to secure a finals slot.

The Filipino cue master will face the winner between Shin Min Liu of Chinese Taipei and Jasmine Ouschan of Austria.

Amit earlier booted out billiards queen Jeanette "Black Widow" Lee to forge a semifinal match up with Kajitani.

At stake in the tournament is the $20,000 top purse. The runner-up will get $9,000 while the losing semifinalists will receive $5,000 each. -- With a report from Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News
