'Sugar' Ray Leonard: No one way to beat Pacquiao
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing legend "Sugar" Ray Leonard has recognized reigning pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao boxing skills, saying that there is no single approach that can decisively defeat the Filipino boxing icon.
"There is not one way to approach a guy like Manny Pacquiao," Leonard said on ESPN's SportsCenter.
"He has incredible hand speed, great footwork. He's always in great shape so you can never catch him on a bad day."
Leonard said the way to beat Pacquiao is to treat a boxing match as a "kind of chess match."
"It's the only way to beat a guy like Manny Pacquiao," Leonard said.

Leonard also shared his thoughts on the ongoing saga between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
"Both guys are indeed the best in their division, and I think that they're both trying to gain some psychological edge," he said.
Despite the drama that surrounded the negotiations, Leonard said he remains an optimist and believes that the fight will happen.
"But it has to happen pretty soon," said the ring legend. "I want to see it (the fight), as a fan."
Leonard also said that during his time as a boxer, he never ducked any one who challenged him.
"Champions fought champions back in my day," he said.
