E-Painters' Chan named PBA Player of the Week
MANILA, Philippines – Jeff Chan put up solid performances in Rain or Shine’s last two games that he was chosen as PBA Player of the Week.
The 6’3” shooting guard tallied a 64.7 shooting percentage from the field and, including 62.5 percent from the three point area in Rain or Shine’s successive victories over Alaska and Barangay Ginebra last week.
“We shot the ball very well [in the team’s last two games] and Jeff has shot the ball well also with AZ [Reid] and Paul Lee,” Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao said in the PBA webstie.
Chan had 15 points during Rain or Shine’s 123-72 blowout of the Alaska Aces last Wednesday. That game set the record for the franchise’s highest winning margin in the PBA.
Against Ginebra last Sunday, Chan was accurate from the field again, churning out 18 points including three treys as Rain or Shine handed the Gin Kings’ second loss in the tournament, 117-108.
These performances gained him the nod to become the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of June 2-8.
