LAS VEGAS - Top Rank CEO Bob Arum on Monday said he will ask the US Attorney General to investigate the verdict in the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley, which saw Bradley dethrone the People's Champ.

This is after majority of sportswriter and analysts said Pacquiao clearly won the fight after landing the most punches against Bradley.

"We are going to ask the Attorney General to investigate the entire situation because what happened last night in Las Vegas with the scoring was an absolute outrage and we have to have a thorough and complete investigation to determine how something like this could happen and who is responsible," he told ABS-CBN's "Umagang Kay Ganda."

In the interview, the Top Rank CEO acknowledged that many fight fans might cast doubt that the Pacquiao fight was fixed because of the shocking verdict.

He admitted that a rematch clause in the fight contract was only if Bradley won the bout.

"That is a perception that a lot of people have because the decision is so ridiculous. It's unfortunate and that is something we have to deal with and we can deal with in an invetigation," he said.

"I don't know why the scoring was the way it was but it was certainly not based on any consideration of a rematch because I haven't talked to these judges in over a year. You know, I don't know if these judges knew there was a rematch provision. That is why an investigation is very important," he said.

Arum admitted it is theoretically possible to appeal the decision before the Nevada State Athletic Commission but noted that in many cases, the commission will not reverse a decision.

"They will reverse a decision if one of the athletes is shown to have a positive drug test, that kind of thing, but not because the decision was wrong, no," he said.

ABS-CBN correspondent Dyan Castillejo, meanwhile, noted that Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director did not show up after the fight.

She said Pacquiao was very gracious in defeat despite an uproar in the media room over the decision.
