'College Wars' pit UAAP vs NCAA
MANILA -- Select teams from the University Athletics Association of the Philippines and the National Collegiate Athletics Association will duke it out for hardcourt supremacy in the UAAP-NCAA College Wars starting June 16.
Each group will be composed of six teams from both collegiate leagues.
The UAAP group will be made up of Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles, Far Eastern University Tamaraws, University of the East Red Warriors, University of the Philippines Maroons, Adamson University Falcons and National University Bulldogs.
The NCAA group, meanwhile, will be consisted of San Beda Red Lions, Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, San Juan de Letran Knights, Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals, San Sebastian Stags and Perpetual Help of Rizal Altas.
The tournament will be composed of 12 games wherein members of the UAAP group will be pitted against their counterparts in NCAA.
Each won game will give the winning group 1 point.
Each league can also get bonus scores through “total differential points."
Officials will keep a running score of the total differential points after every playing day. After the last game, they will sum up the points for and points against.
The league with the higher Point differential gets an additional of 2 points, which will be summed up with the score gained through basketball wins.
The league with the most points by the end of the competition will be declared as tournament champions.
The winning league will receive P 700,000 while the runner-up will get P300,000.
The games will be aired on ABS-CBN Studio 23 from 2 pm to 5:50 pm.
