MANILA, Philippines – He may be 42 but Dan Henderson believes he has so much left in his tank that he can still outpunch any younger fighter.

This Saturday (Sunday in Manila), he’ll be going at it again when he tangles against former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans at the main event of UFC 161.

“When you turn 40, it puts a doubt in some people's minds whether you can still hang with the young bucks,” said the ageless “Hendo” in Countdown to UFC 161.

Henderson has been fighting since 1997 and is already a veteran of 38 fights. He was the last Strikeforce light heavyweight champion and was the last welterweight and middleweight champion of Pride Fighting Championships.

Henderson said the secret to his longevity in the fight game is to train smart.

“My body's feeling good and I've gotten smarter in years of my training and making sure I won't beat my body up too bad in training camp,” he said.

“I feel young and get out there and still beat the crap out of all the young guys.”
