MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light-heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira of Brazil is nearly certain he can defeat reigning champion Jon "Bones" Jones in a title fight.

The 33-year-old Teixeira, who has won 19 consecutive fights, told MMA Junkie that should his next bout be against Jones, he is confident he can win.

"I am very confident. If my next fight was against Jones, for sure I would go in to win. I give myself a 99% chance (of winning)," Teixeira said.

But Teixeira still has a ways to go before he gets a shot at Jones, the dominant champion who has defended his light-heavyweight title a record-tying five times.

The Brazilian Teixeira will likely need to notch a couple of more wins before he can challenge Jones, and he already has his eye on a few fighters in the division.

"One of my top fighters is Ryan Bader. I was going to face him, but he got hurt. It could still be my next fight," Teixeira said. "There's also the winner of Rashad (Evans) and Dan Henderson. I hope it's one of those guys."

Teixeira has already ruled out a bout against former champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida, who is his close friend.

"So I think it's those three (Bader, Evans or Henderson). Whatever comes our way, we’re feeling confident," he said.

Teixeira made his UFC debut in May 2012 and immediately impressed, submitting Kyle Kingsbury via arm triangle choke at UFC 146.

He has since won three more fights in the UFC, including a guillotine choke of James Te Huna at UFC 160 last May 25, for which he won a "Submission of the Night" bonus.
