Filipino flyweights get ready for Jakarta MMA card
MANILA, Philippines – Three Filipino mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters are now ready to rumble after making weight for ONE FC: Era of Champions, which will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday.
Team Lakay’s Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, who outwitted fellow Pinoy Eugene Toquero via unanimous decision last December, made it to the 125-pound limit of his flyweight bout against Japan’s Kentaro Watanabe.
Former boxer Jomanz Omanz also made the flyweight limit by tipping the scales at 124 pounds. He will clash against Muay Thai expert Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in the main card of the event.
Ruel Catalan, a 2005 World Wushu bronze medalist, stepped in at 125 pounds for his cage collision with Malaysia’s Gianni Subba.
The 9-fight event, to be headlined by the flyweight clash between rising Brazilian star Adriano Moraes and top Japanese fighter Kosuke Suzuki, will take place state-of-the-art Mata Elang International Stadium.
