College basketball action gets underway as select teams from the NCAA and UAAP face off at the “College Wars” on Tuesday.

The six-day event, organized by ABS-CBN Sports, will kick off with the National University (NU) Bulldogs and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Altas game at 2 p.m.

The game will be followed by the clash between Adamson University (AdU) Falcons and San Sebastian College (SSC-R) Stags at 4 p.m.

The first day of “Collge Wars” will be held at the Emilio Aguinaldo College along Taft Ave., Manila.

NU, UPHSD, AdU and SSC-R belong to Group C. “College Wars” rules state that a team can only play against teams from another league within its group.

San Beda College (SBC) Red Lions, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles, Jose Rizal University (JRU) Bombers and Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws are in Group A.

Group B is composed of Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) Knights, University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) Cardinals, and University of the Philippines (UP) Maroons.

The groupings were based on the 2008-2009 season rankings.

To determine the champion league, each game won by a member-team will earn the home-league one point. Differential points will also be added and the league with the higher point differential at the end of six game days will earn two bonus points.

The winning league will take home P700,000 while the other league will get P300,000.

The school with the highest point differential among those who completed a 2-0 sweep within its group will receive the Top School prize worth P100,000.

The “College Wars” will be broadcast live over Studio 23, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
