The 33rd National Milo Marathon will be holding simultaneous runs in Manila and Cebu on July 5 where a total of 40,000 runners are expected to participate.

The Manila and Cebu legs are part of the 27 races being organized by Milo Marathon this year.

Featured in the country’s longest and most prestigious running event are the 42.195-kilometer Elimination Race, the 21-K run, 10-K run, the 5-K fun run and the 3-K student run.

The National Milo Marathon was first held on May 26, 1974 with some 767 runners responding enthusiastically to the starting gun that ushered in the marathon era locally. Ten years after, Milo succeeded in popularizing running as a sport, with a growing number of runners responding to the call of the event.

Those who will succeed in the qualifying races will be given the chance to compete in the finals set on October 11.
