MANILA -- The Milo Little Olympics will kick off its nationwide competition in September as it pits the best athletes from different schools in the country.
The Little Olympics will hold four regional meets before proceeding to the National finals, which will be held sometime in October.
The kick off will take place in Cebu, where representatives from all Visayas will converge on September 4.
This will be followed by a separate event on September 5 in Manila, the main venue for athletes in the National Capital Region.
On September 11, Luzon athletes will gather in Lingayen while Minadanao representatives converge in Cagayan de Oro.
The National finals will be on October 23.
The Milo Little Olympics was first held in 1988 in Manila in conjunction with the Seoul Summer Olympic Games.
Products of the Little Olympics in several sports disciplines have represented the country in major sports tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games; tennis for the World Youth Cups; and track and field in Asian Junior Track and Field meets.
