'Pacquiao is a superhero'
MANILA, Philippines – Another boxer being trained by Manny Pacquiao's coach, Freddie Roach, recently called the Filipino ring legend a "superhero."
Vanes Martirosyan is a top middleweight contender who also trains with Roach in the Wild Card Gym, along with Pacquiao, Amir Khan, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Martirosyan told On the Ropes Boxing Radio that Pacquiao's jump from weight class to weight class has been amazing.
"I think Pacquiao's a superhero. I don't know how he does it," Martirosyan said.
"I just can't wait for my kids', kids', kids' to talk about this guy... I'm just happy that I'm living in a time where there are people like Manny Pacquiao to help you accomplish your goals.
"Watching somebody like that is amazing."
Martirosyan added that training with Pacquiao and his other stable mates helped bring out the best in him.
"We all spar together and we all help each other. We bring out the best in each other," Martirosyan said.
"It's good to have those guys in the gym, especially Manny Pacquiao. You watch him train and it makes you want to train twice a day or three times a day."
Martirosyan added that Pacquiao would train as though he was fighting for his first world title.
Martirosyan is coming off a 7-round stoppage of Saul Ramon and is vying to fight Saul Alvarez for the 154-pound title.
"I think we'll KO (Alvarez). Freddie says I'll knock hm out in one round," Martirosyan said.
