MANILA, Philippines – Talk 'N Text point guard Jimmy Alapag refuses to lose hope even with the Texters staring at a 0-2 deficit against the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers in their PBA Governors Cup semi-finals series.

TNT entered the playoffs as the top-seed and made short work of the Barako Bull Energy Cola in the quarter-finals. But as in the Commissioners Cup, they ran into a rampaging San Mig team that is seeking a Grand Slam this season.

Their season can thus end Monday night in Game 3 of their best-of-five semi-finals series.

But Alapag is hopeful that the Texters can make history as only the fourth team to recover from a 0-2 series deficit.

"We've been in this position before, and I have complete trust in the guys in the locker room," said Alapag, as quoted by PBA.ph.

"But before you get three (wins), you’ve got to get the first one," he added.

Alapag acknowledged that he and his teammates "can't afford to make mistakes or (have) slow starts," especially against a team like San Mig Coffee.

"It's gonna be important for us to have a strong start and play a full 48-minute game," he said. "Our focus right now is to get focused on Monday night, and try to play a great game to get us back in the series."

Talk 'N Text has been on the wrong end of a historic comeback before, when, in the 2010 Philippine Cup quarter-finals, they blew a 2-0 series lead against Barangay Ginebra.
