Team Lakay's Sangcha-an set to fulfill UFC dream
MANILA, Philippines – Team Lakay's Roldan Sangcha-an will fight in hostile territory when he battles Richie Vaculik in the preliminaries of "UFC Fight Night" in Auckland, New Zealand this weekend.
Sangcha-an will put at stake his 4-0 slate in his UFC debut against the skilled Vaculik, who enjoys the advantage in experience with a record of 9-2.
The Filipino is expected to use his striking skills to the hilt as Vaculik prefers to fight on his feet.
“Richie Vas is a good MMA fighter. That is why I am preparing for our fight very well,” said Sangcha-an in UFC.com.
The bout will serve as one of the undercard bouts of the event that features James Te Huna against Nate Marquardt.
Sangcha-an said he has long dreamed to fight in UFC, which he considers as the biggest MMA stage in the world.
“As a young martial artist, I dreamed of fighting in the biggest MMA promotion in the world. I watched the UFC fights and dreamed of fighting in the Octagon and now it is a dream come true for me to fight in the UFC at last,” said the 23-year-old Benguet native.
