B-Meg, TNT tangle in grudge match
MANILA, Philippines – B-Meg Derby Ace and Talk N' Text will square off again on Wednesday’s PBA Governors’ Cup action to improve their records while closing the elimination round of the season-ending tournament.
According to PBA.ph, the Llamados are already a step into the semifinals with a 5-2 record, while the Texters are just a game behind with 4-3.
Closely following them are Barangay Ginebra, Powerade, Petron and Meralco, all with 4-4 win-loss slates.
“It’s a big, big game,” said Talk N’ Text coach Chot Reyes.
Game time is at 7:30 p.m.
The two teams are expected to relive their rivalry, which began in the Commissioner’s Cup finals.
“We know Talk N’ Text well and they know us after our seven-game [finals] series, so there won’t be any surprises,” said coach Tim Cone, who helped B-Meg win the Commissioner’s Cup.
“We're facing the league’s best defensive team that’s coming into this match well rested and undoubtedly well-prepared. We have to find ways to compete like we’ve been doing in our past few games,” said Reyes.
