Brown, who has starred in a movie with Dolphy back in the ‘80s, urged his friends and Facebook followers to spare some time to offer prayers for the showbiz icon who is remains in critical condition.

“My heart is heavy as I write this request, and I ask everyone to pray for Tito Dolphy as he fights for his life,” the former San Miguel stalwart posted on his Facebook page.

“Please take a few moments now and pray for our beloved King of Comedy and the entire Quizon family.”

Brown, the 1983 PBA Rookie of the Year and 1985 PBA Most Valuable Player, is known as the first-ever Filipino-American to play as a local in the league.

He was nicknamed as “Quick Brown Fox” for his ability to elude his defenders while scoring or dishing out assists.

Brown plans to visit Dolphy when he makes his return to Manila this July.

He made a movie with the veteran comedian in 1987 titled “Action Is Missing: Crack Platoon” which was an entry to the 1987 Manila Film Festival.

Brown even cherished an old photograph sent to him by Dolphy before the comedian’s health started to deteriorate.

It was a photograph of him and Dolphy taken during the taping of their movie.

“To my surprise, this photo and frame were in a package addressed to me. When I saw it was my picture with Tito Dolphy and it had his personal dedication to me... well, tears came to my eyes and my heart became heavy with joy,” said Brown.

“I will treasure this gift from the King of Comedy for the rest of my life, and I look forward to seeing him again when I return home to Manila later this year. As gentle and compassionate a man as I have ever met... I am blessed to have been touched by the great Dolphy Quizon.”
