MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) -- Grand Slam-seeking San Mig Coffee grabbed a 93-87 Game 5 win over Talk 'N Text on Friday to secure a seat in the PBA Governors' Cup Finals.

Two-time Most Valuable Player James Yap led the Coffee Mixers with 25 points on 5-of-9 3-point shooting to go with his 6 rebounds. Marqus Blakely, who nearly came into blows with fellow import Paul Harris, added 21.

San Mig Coffee began pulling away from Talk ‘N Text late in the third canto and piled up a 14-point lead, 69-55, going into the fourth.

The Tropang Texters fought hard to get back into the game as Harris pulled Talk ‘N Text within 4 points, 84-88, with 29 seconds remaining before regulation.

But Mark Barroca delivered the finishing blows for the Coffee Mixers by coming up with 3 free throws and a jumper to hold off the Texters. Barroca finished with 17 points.

Talk ‘N Text’s defeat spoiled Harris’ 40-point effort.

It will be the Coffee Mixers' fourth-straight finals appearance since winning last season's Governors' Cup. San Mig Coffee claimed the first two games in the semis before Talk 'N Text won the next two to level the competition, 2-all.

The Coffee Mixers will face the winner between Rain or Shine and Alaska who will battle it out on Saturday in Game 5 of their own semifinal series.

This year's Governors' Cup is the remaining piece needed by the Tim Cone-led San Mig Coffee to clinch a grand slam, which was last achieved by Alaska in the 1996 season of the PBA.
