MANILA, Philippines - Jayvie Agojo hopes to bring her winning act to Baguio as she shoots for a second straight victory in the P500,000 ICTSI Camp John Hay Ladies Invitational which unfolds Tuesday at Camp John Hay Golf Club.

Finally ending a year-long spell on the ICTSI Ladies Philippine Golf Tour with a three-shot win over Chihiro Ikeda at LPGT Riviera last Friday, Agojo is oozing with confidence and all primed-up for another shot at the crown in the country’s first-ever ladies pro circuit.

“It’s good to win the first at home but I have to sustain my form and putting to win again since John Hay’s green are quite fast,” said Agojo, who actually has posted her first pro win in Thailand last year.

Amateur Princess Superal, the spearhead of Team ICTSI, will not be around to defend the crown she won in smashing fashion where she humbled the pro field with a three-day display of flawless golf to win by eight over Chihiro Ikeda, who has also begged off to honor a previous commitment to play in Japan.

But the depth of the compact field remains as talent-laden as ever with Cyna Rodriguez, winner of this year’s kickoff leg at Orchard, back in the hunt and Thai Amolkan Phalajivin also rejoining the circuit sponsored by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. and organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.

Also in the roster are Sarah Ababa, Lina de Guzman, Apple Fudolin, Lovelynn Guioguio, Lucy Landico, Eva Miñoza, Majorie Pulumbarit, Jan Punzalan, Anya Tanpinco and Sylvia Torres.

Rodriguez’s return should guarantee a fierce battle for the top P100,000 purse in the 54-hole tournament backed by Nike, Pacsports, Custom Clubmakers and Sharp with Agojo also has some score to settle with the comebacking reigning OOM champion.

Rodriguez nipped Agojo for fourth place at John Hay last year and went on to clinch the coveted OOM crown.
