IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire will be waiting for the winner of the IBF eliminator between Moruti "Baby Face and Hussein Hussein which was slated on July 5 in South Africa.

IBF Championship Committee Chairman Lindsey Tucker said the winner of that fight "will be the mandatory for Donaire."

This is in reaction to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum’s statement that he planned to match Donaire in a mandatory title defense despite plans for the Filipino to move up to super flyweight. Top Rank plans to pit Donaire against WBC No. 1 Jorge Arce.

Tucker said that negotiations for the Donaire’s mandatory title defense would start on July 7 and the two sides will be given 30 days to reach an agreement.

Hussein was earlier scheduled to fight the Filipino champion for the title last April. However, the bout was aborted due to organizational problems. The Australian-based boxer will get his chance for a crack on Donaire should he beat Mithalane.

Donaire earlier said that there were plans to include him on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito WBA welterweight title bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on July 26.

A report posted on Philboxing.com said that if the July fight would not push through, Donaire may fight on the undercard of the Joshua Clottey – Zab Judah match in the Palms Casino on August 2.
