LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Clippers signed Blake Griffin, the top overall pick in the 2009 National Basketball Association entry draft, on Thursday.

Griffin averaged 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds in his sophomore US college season for the Oklahoma Sooners.

The 20-year-old led the nation in rebounding and double-doubles (30).

His 504 rebounds were the highest season rebound total in college basketball since Larry Bird grabbed 505 boards in 1978-79.
