Jeric Teng taken down on purpose, says bro
MANILA – De La Salle’s Jeron Teng claims that the rough play that led to his brother’s injury was done on purpose.
Jeron aired his concern through Twitter after his brother Jeric suffered a nasty fall during University of Sto. Tomas’ basketball game with National University on Wednesday.
NU’s Jeoffrey Javillonar bumped into UST’s Jeric while the Bulldogs were setting up a play in the second quarter. The contact sent Jeric to an awkward fall, injuring his right shoulder.
“I know it's no accident. I've known him since RP youth days,” Jeron tweeted, alluding to Javillonar.
As a result, Jeric was forced to sit out the remainder of the game which NU won, 71-67.
Meanwhile, team physician Raul Palma assured that Jeric did not dislocate his shoulder, according to The Varsitarian.
Jeric, however, remains in pain and will have to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.
Palma said Jeric might miss UST’s game versus University of the East on Saturday.
Jeric plays a major role in the Tigers' scoring department, averaging 19 points per game.
