MANILA – If Juan Manuel Marquez can do it, Brandon Rios believes he can, too.

Rios claimed in a Boxing Scene report that he has enough punching power to knock the lights out of Manny Pacquiao.

“I don't care about Pacquiao's knockout loss. Honestly, I think I can knock him out, I have that kind of power in my hands,” said the Mexican brawler.

Rios, who previously campaigned as a 140-pounder, will be climbing the 147-pound class. The weight climb, he said, will make his punches even stronger.

“I feel stronger in this division and I'm ready to show my power. I'm going for the knockout," he said.

Rios will be facing Pacquiao at The Venetian in Macau when the Filipino makes his ring comeback on November 24.

The 27-year-old is thankful for the big break, saying the Pacquiao fight will open the doors to more opportunities.

"It means a lot to me, because I have waited for this opportunity for so long and finally I got it. I am excited and I will arrive well prepared. I want to go out with a big win over someone like Manny Pacquiao, who will help me take my career to a new level,” said Rios.

He refuses to underestimate the fighting congressman from the Philippines, despite the latter’s devastating KO loss to Marquez.

Rios said he’ll be ready for the best version of Pacquiao.

“Some people come back from that kind of [knockout loss], sometimes not. We'll see how Pacquiao looks. I'm training for the best Manny. We are ready for the guy who beat everyone and dominated the division.”
