MANILA, Philippines – Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard will not get his wish of being traded to the Brookly Nets this off-season.

The Nets broke off talks with the Magic after the two sides failed to execute a last-gasp deal.

Brooklyn effectively ended its pursuit of Howard when the Nets agreed to a $60-million, four-year contract with center Brook Lopez.

Howard demanded a trade to the Nets earlier this off-season, saying it was the only team with whom he will sign a long-term contract extension.

But several attempts to create a fair deal fell apart, including a three-team deal involving the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Magic are still open to shipping Howard and they remain in talks with the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Howard led the Magic to a Finals berth in the 2009 season, where they lost in five games to the Lakers. – Report from ANC.
