Bulls sign Pargo to help bolster backcourt
CHICAGO – Jannero Pargo, a shooting guard who spent last season playing in Greece and Russia, signed a one-year deal to return to the National Basketball Association's giants Chicago Bulls, the club announced on Monday.
Pargo, who played with the Bulls from 2003 through 2006, has also had spells with the New Orleans Hornets, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers in a six-year NBA career.
The move adds depth in the backcourt for Chicago after the loss of scoring leader Ben Gordon to the Detroit Pistons.
Pargo has averaged 6.9 points a game and connected on 36.5 percent of his three-point attempts in regular season games and averaged 6.5 points with a 36.8 percent success rate from beyond the arc in 33 playoff appearances.
The Bulls went 41-41 last season and have managed only two winning campaigns since winning the last of their six NBA titles with Michael Jordan in 1998.
