Bradley ready to move on from Pacquiao
MANILA, Philippines – American boxer Timothy Bradley said he’ll be looking for another big fight if he doesn’t get the rematch against Manny Pacquiao.
Bradley said that although there’s still plenty of time to discuss the possible rematch, he’s ready to move on from his controversial win over Pacquiao.
"We'll sit down and we will figure out what's going on with Top Rank and we'll figure out what's going to happen in the near future. So it's still some months away from anything,” he said in RingTV.
Bradley walked away with the World Boxing Organization welterweight title following his dubious split-decision victory against Pacquiao last June 9. The decision was considered a robbery by boxing pundits as Bradley was badly outpunched by the Filipino champion for most part of the bout.
Bradley called for a rematch to prove that his victory was no fluke.
But if Pacquiao doesn’t want the fight, Bradley said he’ll start looking for another opponent.
"If he doesn't want the rematch, then, hey, 'move over, because there is a new sheriff in town,' and I'll be looking for a big fight out there -- the next biggest name out there in boxing," Bradley said.
