Filipino bodybuilder Jerick Ternida won the Los Angeles Bodybuilding championship held in Culver City, California Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

The Tanay, Rizal resident, who had just recuperated from an injury last year, won the welterweight division of the competition which was sanctioned by the US National Physique Committee.

Ternida earlier nabbed the over-all championship of the Musclemania Universe competition in Miami, Florida.

Before winning the LA welterweight crown, Ternida competed at least five times both in international and local competitions.

His spokesman Sonny Lopez said Ternida will be returning to Manila on July 28.
