MANILA – Trainer Freddie Roach has made a prediction once again that his ward Manny Pacquiao will win his next fight by knockout.

Pacquiao is set to clash with Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Their fight has a weight limit of 145 lbs., which is 2 lbs. below the welterweight maximum, reported Agence-France Presse.

“I do not have anything bad to say about Miguel Cotto,” Roach told Primera Hora’s Carlos Gonzalez as quoted by LA Boxing Examiner’s Ricardo Lois.

“I believe he is an excellent athlete who always gets ready for his fights, but I am confident in Manny's abilities and we are going to knockout Cotto,” declared Roach.

Cotto holds the World Boxing Organization welterweight championship belt.

Pacquiao, meantime, is the International Boxing Organization/Ring Magazine light welterweight champion. He reigns as the world’s No.1 pound-for-pound fighter.

Roach also mentioned what he thinks would be the key to Pacquiao’s victory over Cotto.

“Manny and Miguel have many similarities in their fighting styles, but Manny's speed will be too much for Miguel,” he said.

The American trainer earlier predicted the outcome of Pacquiao’s last fight, the “Battle of East and West” on May 2, against Briton Ricky Hatton.

Roach said that Pacquiao would knockout Hatton in three rounds. “The Pacman” sealed the match in the second round, by scoring a sensational knockout of Hatton.

Pacquiao, 30, has a win-loss record of 49-3-2, with 37 knockouts.

Cotto, who turns 29 on Oct. 29, currently stands at 34-1, with 27 knockouts. He successfully defended his welterweight title against Ghana’s Joshua Clottey on June 13 by split decision.
