MANILA, Philippines – Filipino Vaughn Donayre is included in ONE FC's inaugural card in Dubai, where some of the promotion's biggest superstars are scheduled to fight.

The 35-year-old fighter nicknamed "The Spawn" is eager to prove himself in Asia’s biggest mixed-martial arts (MMA) stage.

“I’ve just signed a big contract, so whoever they are putting me up against I’ve got to prove to ONE FC that I belong,” Donayre said in GulfNews.com.

Donayre worked as a mechanical engineer in the Philippines until he decided to move to the UAE to fulfill his dream as an MMA fighter. He has a professional record of 7 wins against 1 loss.

Donayre is eager to know who his opponent will be so he can start training right away.

“I would like to know who my opponent is so I can prepare, but a fight is a fight. The way you fight doesn’t really matter,” he said.

“I’ve heard people say I fight ugly, but maybe it works for me and keeps the opponent guessing, I just lay it all out there.”

Also featured in ONE FC’s Dubai card are Filipino-American Ana Julaton versus Malaysia’s Ann Osman, the US' Ben Askren against Nobutatsu Suzuki of Japan and Japanese fighter Shinya Aoki versus Iraq’s Kamal Shalorus.
