MANILA, Philippines – Unbeaten featherweight Mikey Garcia said he’d be willing to fight Nonito Donaire Jr. should the Filipino-American champion make it to the 126-pound division.

“It’s something were we are talking about, if it’s a fight that people want to see and the promoter wants to put on,” Garcia said in Boxing Scene.

He said the only thing that would bar the fight from being made is the fact that his brother -- former boxing champion Robert Garcia -- is Donaire’s trainer.

“If my brother is working with him, I don’t think my brother would want that fight, being that we are both my brother’s fighter,” said Garcia.

Boxing analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz earlier said that with Donaire’s built, the Filipino Flash can fight as high as junior lightweight.

But for now, Donaire, the unified World Boxing Organization-International Boxing Federation 122-pound champion, plans to wipe out the super bantamweight division.

He will be facing Mexican brawler Jorger Arce in October before having a classic match against world Boxing Council emeritus champion Toshiaki Nishioka.
