MANILA – UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and his challenger Daniel Cormier again threw verbal jabs at each other, this time while waiting for their interview on ESPN Sports Center.

In a video posted on MMA Fighting, Jones and Cormier, who were positioned in separate rooms, were heard swapping expletives while off air.

“Bones” initiated the exchange by calling his challenger names, to which Cormier responded by tagging the champion as a “fake.”

"Hey [expletive], are you still there?" was Jones' opening tirade.

"I'm here, I'm here. You are just the fakest person. I actually admire that you can actually be this fake, and like, when the TV comes on, how you can just change. It's like you're a chameleon. It's awesome," answered Cormier.

The tension rose when the challenger said he wanted to spit on Jones.

"I wish they would let me next door so I could spit in your [expletive] face," Cormier said.

"You know I would absolutely kill you if you ever did something like that, right?" Jones responded.

The two figured in a brief skirmish during the media day last Monday for their UFC 178 light heavyweight title fight.

Jones and Cormier have long been engaged in Twitter war, even before they were set up for the main event scheduled on September 27.

“Bones” was supposed to defend the title in a rematch versus Alexander Gustafsson. But when the Swede got injured, Cormier gladly stepped up for the challenge.
