Barako Bull manager blasts Trillo for questioning trade
MANILA, Philippines – The team manager of Barako Bull fired back at Alaska coach Luigi Trillo for commenting on the Energy’s decision to ship Allein Maliksi to San Mig Coffee.
Raffy Casyao felt Trillo wasn’t in the position to question Barako Bull deal with San Mig Coffee that sent Maliksi to the Mixers in exchange for Wesley Gonzales, Chris Pacana and a second-round 2017 draft pick.
“Mind your own business. 'Wag siyang makialam sa mga trade na ganito,” Casyao told Spin.ph’s Snow Badua.
The Barako Bull manager said it was ironic for Trillo to criticize their decision to take their chances at Gonzales and Pacana when the Alaska mentor himself had a bad coaching record before being appointed as the Aces’ head coach.
Casyao added that Trillo has no right to meddle with the Energy team’s affairs.
“Kung siya nung kinuha ng Alaska noong una, wala ring logic eh. Coming from an assistant coach who had 0-24 [win-loss] campaign in the UAAP as head coach but, at the end of the day, tama ang Alaska dahil nag-champion sila,” he said.
“Wala siya sa position to judge kung tama ba o mali 'yung trade (namin). 'Wag na siyang makigulo sa problema ng iba. What if the players he calls as illogical replacements end up being stars, same way he had gone through as a coach?”
