Paul Lee is week's best in PBA
MANILA, Philippines – Paul Lee was chosen as Philippine Basketball Association’s Player of the Week for helping Rain or Shine open its title retention bid with two straight wins.
According to the league’s website, Lee averaged 13.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while helping the Elasto Painters get past San Mig Coffee and GlobalPort.
“Paul worked very hard in the off-conference. He deserves whatever success he is reaping right now,” said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
His efforts earned him a unanimous nod as Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period August 14 to 18.
Against the Mixers, the former University of the East standout had 12 points, three rebounds and two blocks for the Elasto Painters’ 79-75 win over San Mig Coffee.
Lee had an even better performance during their 94-74 conquest of GlobalPort by scoring 15 points and seven rebounds.
“We just followed coach Yeng’s instructions. Well prepared naman yung team namin kahit wala pa sina Gabe and Jeff. Sabi lang ni coach Yeng, ‘Be ready.’ Buti naman nag-respond yung team,” said Lee.
“Sa game ko naman nag-prepare lang talaga ako ng sobra nu’ng off-season,” he added.
