MANILA -- Boxing great Oscar de la Hoya has listed Manny Pacquiao among the best boxers he has faced inside the squared circle in his 16 colorful years as a professional fighter.

In his blog published on RingTV.com, De la Hoya said Pacquiao has the “quickest hands” among the boxers he has fought.

“His punches don’t come from your basic boxing style; they come from all sorts of weird angles. That’s what makes him difficult,” said De la Hoya.

He said Pacquiao joins other boxing greats that he has fought including Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker, Arturo Gatti, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas and Bernard Hopkins.

Pacquiao completely dominated De la Hoya during their Dec. 6, 2008 “Dream Match” in Las Vegas, which ended with De la Hoya surrendering after the eighth round.

The loss also ushered the boxing great to retire from the sport.

Pacquiao is now set to face Puerto Rican champion Miguel Cotto for a welterweight clash on November 14 also at the MGM Grand.
