'Pacquiao's punch can kill Mayweather'
MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s accurate punches can put a stop on the winning streak of undefeated pugilist Floyd Mayweather, Jr., the father of Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales said.
Jose Morales, a former fighter who serves as Erik’s trainer, even said that Pacquiao will prevail by Round 8 if a super fight between the Filipino champ and the outspoken American actually plays out.
“He’s very sharp, throws many accurate punches and keeps the pressure on his opponents. That’s why he will win,” the elder Morales told Mark “Scoop” Malinowski of BoxingInsider.com.
Jose described the world’s only 7-division champion as "very aggressive" and will be too much for Mayweather.
“The punch of Manny Pacquiao can kill him very easily,” Jose said. “It can put him down very easily. So he cannot handle that.”
His son, on the other hand, refused to pick between Mayweather and Pacquiao because he believes the fight will not materialize.
“When they are gonna make the fight – talk to me. I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Erik told Malinowski.
“Because it’s never gonna happen. It’s not gonna happen. (Then, with a smile he added) Mayweather is playing with all you guys,” the 3-division world champion continued.
Erik is gearing up for his September 11 bout against Scottish Willie Limond at the Monumental Plaza de Toros in Mexico City, Mexico.
At stake at the “Mexican Fiesta” main event is the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) diamond super lightweight belt.
In an interview with Michael Marley, the 33-year-old Erik said he was a much better fighter than Pacquiao when he was at his peak.
“I was the superior fighter and I had the edge in speed and in skills and I beat him in every department,” said Erik, the last boxer to beat Pacquiao.
Erik scored a unanimous decision win over Pacquiao on March 19, 2005 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Filipino, however, soundly defeated him in their next two meetings.
“I would like to fight him again but I am not obsessed with him. I am working to get back to the top, back where I was before, to be top of the plateau. I have a six fight plan and this is my second one,” he added. – With reports from Mark “Scoop” Malinowski of BoxingInsider.com, Michael Marley and Scott Heritage of Examiner.com

I don't think it can
I don't think it can literally kill mayweather but it can surely KO him. Hopefully they will fight in 1Q 2011 for the benefit of many boxing fans.
