UST's Teng returning vs NU
MANILA, Philippines – After more than a month's rest to recover from injury, Jeric Teng will be returning to UAAP basketball action for the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers on Saturday.
Teng will be playing against the National University (NU) whose Jeoffrey Javillonar was blamed for injuring the UST player's shoulder.
UST coach Pido Jarencio told Spin.ph’s Reuben Terrado that Teng will be ready to suit up for Saturday’s game.
“Laro na Jeric,” said Jarencio.
"Yes, I'll be good to go tomorrow. Si coach na lang ang bahala kung lalaro ako," Teng said for his part.
Javillonar was caught shoving Teng during the UST-NU game last July 10. The push sent the 6’2” shooting guard into an awful landing, causing an injury in his shoulder.
Teng had to rest for a month and two weeks before he could rejoin the Tigers.
His return is expected to improve UST's chances in the second round of eliminations, especially after the España-based dribblers suffered two successive defeats.
The NU Bulldogs, on the other hand, are riding on a three-game win streak.
In the first game on Saturday, the De La Salle Green Archers will try to stretch their 2-game win streak when they face the winless UP Maroons.
