Romeo confident FEU can bounce back
MANILA, Philippines – Far Eastern University (FEU) guard Terrence Romeo believes they can still bounce back even as the Tamaraws have now lost three of their last four contests in the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament.
Romeo told ABS-CBNnews.com that the mood in the FEU locker room was “okay” following their 73-92 loss against Ateneo last Wednesday.
“Okay naman, wala naman masyadong usapan,” he said. “Basta move on.”
“Basta, ibibigay na lang namin ‘yung best namin every game. Tsaka sa coaching staff, sila na ang bahala,” he added.
Romeo, the leading candidate for MVP honors this season, stressed that they can bounce back.
“Confident kami na kaya namin mag-bounce back,” he said. “Pero ‘di namin tinitiyak na pina-pangunahan na panalo kaagad. Basta, gagawin namin lahat para mag-bounce back.”
After firing a career-high 30 points in their double-overtime win against University of the East last Sunday, Romeo struggled anew against Ateneo.
He scored 19 points, but shot only seven of 24 from the field. Moreover, 14 of his 19 points came in the fourth quarter, when the game was already out of reach.
But Romeo said that Ateneo did not do anything special in the game.
“Wala naman silang ginawang kakaiba, konti lang sa depensa nila. Pero wala naman silang extraordinary na ginawa, basta nilaro lang nila ‘yung game nila,” he said.
