TNT stars return as Texters battle Bolts
Barako Bull meets Barangay Ginebra
MANILA, Philippines – Talk 'N Text will finally field three of their Gilas stars when they meet struggling Meralco in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
Ranidel de Ocampo, Jayson Castro and Larry Fonacier will finally join the Tropang Texters after a long break following their stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the recent FIBA Asia Championship.
Talk 'N Text coach Norman Black hopes the three would be able to help the team improve its 1-1 record.
“We are looking forward to getting three of our Gilas players back as Ranidel, Jayson and Larry will play,” said Black in the PBA website. “Now the goal is to try and improve our game and get some wins.”
This means bad news for the Bolts who will be playing minus injured players Macmac Cardona and Jared Dillinger.
Meralco have suffered two straight losses to Barako Bull and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, and desperately needs a win to climb from a 1-2 record.
Meanwhile, Barako Bull will meet Barangay Ginebra in the other game.
A win over the Gin Kings would put the Energy to a two-way tie with Petron Blaze atop the standings.
Barako Bull won twice in their last three games, their best start in years.
However, they will meet a Ginebra squad that manhandled Meralco, 98-85, last Saturday.
