Still no word on Bob Arum's son
MANILA, Philippines – Authorities spotted the empty campsite of Bob Arum’s son, John Arum, in the Storm King Peak area in the Northern Cascade range of the United States.
But they have not found the 49-year-old lawyer who went missing since going on a solo hiking trip over the weekend, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.
Rescue operations by foot and helicopter are ongoing.
John’s family told AFP that he was an experienced hiker who wanted to try to climb the 100 highest peaks in the state of Washington.
Todd duBoef, the stepson of the elder Arum, said on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) that there has been no update on John.
“They are proceeding with rescue hikes,” duBoef told Michael Woods of TheSweetScience.com.
DuBoef replaced Bob as the emcee of the media tour for the Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito fight.
Bob, the CEO of Top Rank, Inc., conducted the first Pacquiao-Margarito press conference in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila).
He flew to Seattle after the media event to monitor the search and rescue operations for his son.
The media tour will proceed to Texas where duBoef will also host the event.
The Pacquiao-Margarito clash will take place on November 13 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. – With reports from Agence France-Presse and TheSweetScience.com
