MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao expressed sorrow over the death of boxing promoter Bob Arum’s son, whose body was found at the Washington state mountainside on Friday (Saturday in Manila).

Arum, chief executive officer of Top Rank Boxing, which promotes Pacquiao’s fights, is mourning the death of his son, John Arum.

"I feel so bad right now for what happened to Bob's son, I am praying for him," said Pacquiao, who has just wrapped up his 3-city tour promoting his November 13 fight against Antonio Margarito of Mexico.

The elder Arum had to pull out of the boxing tour after receiving word that his son was missing.

Todd duBoef, the stepson of the elder Arum, replaced his stepfather in overseeing the promotion.

An Associated Press report said the younger Arum, who works as an environmental lawyer in Seattle, was spotted by a search helicopter at the 7,700-foot level of the 8,500-foot-high Storm King mountain in the North Cascades National Park.

Park spokeswoman Kerry Olson said searchers in the helicopter have confirmed that the 49-year-old attorney was dead.

John’s family said that he was an experienced mountain climber who wanted to try to climb the 100 highest peaks in the state of Washington. -- With reports from Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News, and Agence France-Presse
