Fists fly in GlobalPort-San Mig Coffee game
MANILA, Philippines – A fight broke out during the GlobalPort versus San Mig Coffee game in the PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday.
San Mig's Marc Pingris and GlobalPort's Kelly Nabong were at the center of the scuffle that happened with 8:11 minutes remaining in third quarter.
The melee started when the Batang Pier’s Marvin Hayes and the Mixers’ import Marqus Blakely got entangled on the floor.
Joe Devance came to Blakely’s aid and pushed Hayes. Nabong then retaliated for Hayes by shoving Devance.
Out of nowhere, Pingris rushed in and tried to punch Nabong.
Nabong then reacted by trying to knee the Gilas player on the body.
Pingris and Nabong were later ejected from the game.
San Mig Coffee eventually won, 102-88.
