MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao wants to continue making a mark in the boxing world by being a warrior in battle and a kindhearted person outside the ring.

The 7-division world champion said this amid the latest controversy involving him and American Floyd Mayweather, Jr., who hurled racial slurs against the Filipino champion last week.

The unbeaten American boxer has apologized for his comments. (Read: Mayweather apologizes for racist remarks)

“Wala akong hinanakit sa kaniya... Hindi ako nagbigay ng komento sa mga message niya, sa mga pahayag niya. Sabi ko nga ayaw kong magbigay ng comment. Ayokong patulan ‘yung uneducated na pahayag ni Mayweather. Sarili niya ‘yun. Ganun ang style niya so hayaan na,” Pacquiao told media members at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday.

Pacquiao came from the United States where he took part in the media tour to promote his November 13 fight with Mexican Antonio Margarito.

He noted that there was no trash talk in the 3 press conferences held in California, New York and Texas.

“Gusto ko kasing ituwid yung ibang boksingero na paniwala boxing... kahit sa presscon palang mag-away-away na, mag-trash talk, mga ‘di maganda salita. ‘Di maganda sa tao, ‘di maganda sa publiko ‘yun,” the boxer-turned-congressman commented.

“Puwede ka naman maging magaling na boksingero, magaling na atleta na walang binibitawan masakit na salita, walang nakakapanira ng puri… at kailangan ‘yung Panginoon laging umiiral,” he added.

He also said that he does not want to comment further on the issue to protect his name as well as the interests of his fans.

When further pressed to talk about Mayweather, he shared what he told the US media when they were asking him to comment on the racial slurs.

“Sabi ko, ‘I don’t want to give a comment on that because he’s not my opponent.’ Wala naman kaming negosasyon,” stated Pacquiao.

“Wala naman akong pakialam doon pati ‘yung message niya, pati ‘yung apology niya, wala akong pakialam,” he said. – With a report from Dominic Almelor, ABS-CBN News

Wow, ang humble naman ni Pacman. Hindi kasi marunong mag trash talk. Hehehe. Tama ang ginawa mo Pacman. Nasa most riches athletes in the world ka kasi, si Mayweather wala.

Poochiao, control your mother and wife

Damn Poochiao, if you cannot control your high flying Mother and Wife, you are going to lose in your next fight because of Karma. They are disgrace to society.

You are Right, @Ramkedz

Yes, Aling Dionisia and Jinky need "left hook" to change their attitude. And I want Mayweather to deliver it.

Sportmanship

It's great that Manny Pacquiao is not aggressive until he hits the ring, lol.

I'm not Manny's fan, but I always admire his success in his career.

You make your luck, so I don't have to say Good Luck to you.

Pacquiao Is A Class Act

By showing calmness and not going down to Mayweather's level, Manny Pacquiao proves to the world that he is a gentleman and a class act, while Mayweather proves that he has no education and has no class with his behavior.

And Mayweather's actions shows he is not a gentleman.

Your Mother and Wife are Bad Examples !!!

Tell your mother and wife to set good examples. If only they are very active in charitable organizations, go around the country helping poor people, distributing goods to typhoon victims and other calamities, it will not be only good for their souls but also for your political career. But No! Instead they chose to show off their new found wealth in-front of television. If they believe that God give them these blessings, they should believe that God can take away these things away from them in a heart beat. Your wife and mother need “left hook” to change their attitudes.

I salute to you Manny

I salute to you Manny Pacquiao. You are just being calm about the situation and focused on your upcoming fight. I respect you...

Mayweather versus Pacquiao,

Mayweather versus Pacquiao,

We are for Pacquiao, win or lose.

Pacquiao might be dumb looking (like most rural gents), but that is deceiving he is a good book inside. He fulfilled the American Dream better than Mayweather even in earning big bucks, in gaining more respect and admiration to peoples of the world. He may not be as handsome as Mayweather but when he retires from boxing, he continues to be somebody. He is lawmaker, a leader voted by his people. He walks, talks, and smiles like a Filipino, that’s why the country stops its clock when he fights.

To Magdalo96 THANKS for your comment in another thread. It is appreciated. May be even by other readers.
