Roach: No hard feelings toward Khan
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing coach Freddie Roach said he’s not mad at Amir Khan over the boxer’s decision to dump him for another trainer.
Khan wanted exclusive training time from a boxing coach, which he could not get from a top and busy trainer like Roach.
The Olympic silver medalist said he’ll announce Roach’s replacement next week.
But Roach said there are no hard feelings about them parting ways.
"I like Amir, I wish him nothing but the best," Roach said in Boxing Scene.
The multi-awarded trainer said Khan’s camp wanted him to drop Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. so he can concentrate exclusively in Khan’s training.
Roach refused, prompting Khan’s group to look for another trainer.
