Asi-powered Air21 tests self vs TNT
MANILA, Philippines – Air21 hopes to break out from a four-game slump when it faces Talk ‘N Text on Tuesday at the PBA Governors’ Cup.
The Express will be fielding their new acquisitions, Joseph Yeo and PBA veteran Asi Taulava, against a Tropang Texters crew that suffered a 88-122 blow out to Petron Blaze last Wednesday.
The Express recently acquired Taulava’s playing rights from Meralco, paving the way for the Fil-Tongan’s return to the league.
Taulava left the PBA a year ago after joining the San Miguel Beermen in the ASEAN Basketball League.
Air21 also propped up its backcourt by getting Yeo from Petron Blaze in exchange for Mark Isip.
Talk ‘N Text, on the other hand, is also aiming to rebound from their horrendous performance against Petron.
The Texters are on a two-game skid, but the way they succumbed to the Boosters was something hard to swallow for coach Norman Black.
“Honestly, after last night, I don’t really have a comment,” said the Talk ‘N Text coach in the league website a day after their defeat.
“I’m just hoping we get our acts together before it’s too late,” he Black.
The Air21-Talk 'N Text game takes place at the Philsports Arena on Friday.
Tip off will be at 5:15 p.m.
