Rose watches Thais beat Arellano in 3on3 finals
MANILA, Philippines – Chicago Bulls point guard and 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose witnessed the finals of the adidas 3on3 tournament at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
Rose, who is in town for the last stop of his adidas D Rose world tour, watched as guest team Thailand defeated players from the Arellano University, 11-9.
After the 3on3 finals, Rose played in a few games along with celebrity guests Isabel Daza and footballing brothers Phil and James Younghusband.
Rose and Daza teamed up to defeat the Younghusband brothers in a shooting competition, with the NBA superstar tossing in a shot at the buzzer to seal the win.
PBA players Chris Tiu and Josh Urbiztondo joined in the fun as they competed against Rose in a three-point shootout.
Rose also teamed up with Tiu and JC Intal to take on the Thai players in a 3on3 game.
Manila is Rose’s last stop in his tour, and he expressed his excitement to return to the United States to kick off their training camp. Rose missed all of last season while recovering from an ACL injury.
