UAAP: DLSU Lady spikers enter Final Four
MANILA – The De La Salle Lady Spikers nailed the last Final Four slot in the 72nd UAAP beach volleyball after snapping the four-game run of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Lady Spikers on Wednesday at the UE Caloocan sand courts.
The tandem of Jacq Alarca and Charleen Cruz used their height advantage in claiming a two-set sweep of UST’s Maru Batinacla and Jen Fortuno, 21-15, 21-18.
La Salle moved into the Final Four as it caught its victim at 4-2.
Adamson, meanwhile, continued its surge as it moved closer to a sweep of the single round elimination.
Lady Falcons Angela Benting and Leslie Ann Gata scored an easy victory against Ateneo duo Asia Urquico and Jessica Morado, 21-8, 21-11, as they rolled to their sixth straight win.
Defending champion Lady Tamaraws kept within a striking distance posting their fifth win in six matches after Camille Abanto and Marigail Tolentino easily swept University of the Philippines’ Pau Genido and Amanda Isada, 21-17, 21-11.
National University finally barged into the win column as Jennilyn Reyes and Mervic Manqui escaped University of the East pair Ann Balmaceda and Jessica Paron, 21-17, 21-18.
Ateneo ended up at fifth spot after defeating UP, 21-10, 21-19, for only its third win in seven matches. By Alder T. Almo
