MANILA, Philippines – Brylle Gever Vinluan of Baguio City grabbed the top spot in the inaugural Robinson’s Place under-15 chess tournament last September 15 in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
Using the disadvantageous black pieces, Vinluan split the point with Juan Carlos M. Presente of San Jose Academy of Bulacan in the final round to formally clinch the title in the six-round tournament.
Vinluan collected a total score of 5.5 points, half a point ahead of Presente, who wound up in second place.
John Marx Anastacio of Pangasinan finished in third place, followed by Paul Lejither Uy of Tarlac City and Jerome Junio, also of Pangasinan.
