PBA's Dillinger sets return after injury layoff
MANILA, Philippines – Former Talk ‘N Text forward Jared Dillinger will be back in PBA action after taking a five-month hiatus due to injury.
This time he’ll be suiting up for Meralco, which acquired him through a four-player trade that involved Talk ‘N Text and Barako Bull last June.
Meralco coach Ryan Gregorio told Spin.ph’s Snow Badua that Dillinger will fly back from California on Thursday.
“I received a text from Jared, he’ll be ready to fly in on the 19th,” he said. “He told me that as soon as he hops out of the plane he is ready to go.”
Dillinger’s arrival is as a welcome development for the Bolts, who has already gained an outright passage into the quarterfinals of the PBA Governors Cup through a 100-91 win over Air21 last Sunday.
The 29-year-old Filipino-American was forced to miss the rest of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup after suffering a pelvic bone fracture during a highway accident last April.
Dillinger said he has fully recovered from his injury and will be ready to go as soon as he arrives in the Philippines.
“Yeah, I am leaving here on Thursday. I feel good! I don’t know what management has planned for me but my intention is to play and help the team as soon as I arrive,” he said.
