Pinoy skimboarders seek funding for Penang tilt
MANILA – Fifteen Filipino skimboarders are vying for top honors in the coming 7th Penang Skimboarding Competition in Malaysia next month.
The skimboarders, among the best in the Philippines, are currently looking for sponsors to help fund their airfare to Malaysia.
They are looking to duplicate the feat of Sonny Boy “Bayugyug” Aporbo, who won first place in the 6th edition of the competition.
This year’s event will be held at Tanjung Bungah Beach in Penang, Malaysia on October 5-6, 2013.
Skimboarding is a boardsport similar to surfboarding. However, unlike surfboarding, it uses smaller boards without fins.
